Originally popular in the early 20th century in commercial and institutional applications, Outwater says cork has begun to re-establish itself as a very practical, resilient and easy-to-use product for bulletin boards and wall facing. Readily and repeatedly harvested from cork oak trees, it is an environmentally friendly material in addition to offering value and design flexibility. Outwater’s rolled cork is designed to be naturally flame retardant, durable and easy to maintain. The core component, suberin, is a natural insect repellent. It can be purchased by the foot, or in complete rolls 197 feet long by 48 inches wide by three millimeters thick, or 98 feet long by 48 inches wide by six millimeters thick.
